Woolacombe bay hotel.

Woolacombe Bay Hotel is situated right in the centre of Woolacombe on the North Devon coast with stunning views onto the beach and sea.  Set in 6 acres of private gardens it makes the perfect back drop for your wedding photography, but if you’re feeling a little more adventurous the beach is a short walk away. Where we will be able to spend a little time together capturing a few moments together as husband and wife away from your guests.

I was at the hotel back in July. Which I’ll blog later on this week. The hotel is beautifully maintained dating back to 1800’s with an understated elegance. They have the facilities to provide a beautiful small intimate wedding through to the largest of weddings.

The food is outstanding and created with the finest local produce.  The events team at the hotel are experienced and incredibly efficient making sure your wedding will follow perfectly.

It really is situated in a stunning coastal location in North Devon. I would recommend woolacombe not only as a wedding venue, but it’s well worth a visit with the family.

Hartnoll Hotel, Tiverton

Hartnoll Hotel, Tiverton.

In July I was at the Hartnoll Hotel, Bolham near Tiverton. The Hotel is a small family run boutique style hotel and the attention to details in the rooms is impressive. The grounds and lawn are beautifully landscaped with a small stream running across the bottom of the grounds.

The interior of Hartnoll hotel has been painstakingly restored and after sitting in the bar and enjoying the cappuccino for while, waiting for my bride and groom to arrive. So we could go through their timetable for the wedding. It’s was becoming obvious that this is a well run and managed venue, they also do a very good cappuccino.

The wedding was going to be held in the large Atrium room with a fantastic roof light. This floods the room with a beautifully defused light perfect for your wedding pictures.

While we were walking around the grounds deciding where they would like to have their wedding photographs taken. Customers were enjoying lunch sat outside the conservatory in the afternoon sun with their child playing in the grounds. An idyllic setting for a wedding.

The wedding was brilliant and I’ll blog it later on this week.

Boringdon Hall Wedding

Boringdon Hall Wedding

At the end of June I was at the Beautiful Boringdon hall hotel just on the edge of Dartmoor, photographing Brigitte and Joe’s wedding. I first met Brigitte and Joe about a year before their wedding and shortly after they booked me we then met again at their friends wedding I was also photographing.

Rebecca from Changingfaces.net was there when I arrived and she was doing her usual brilliant job of getting all the girls ready.

The weather turned out beautifully although it was looking decidedly dodgy at one point. We weren’t sure if they would be able to get married outside in the gazebo. It wasn’t until the final thirty minutes before the ceremony that the decision was made to go outside. I’m so glad we did as it was perfect.

I had a fantastic time photographing Brigitte and Joe’s Boringdon Hall wedding. The staff are always very welcoming and every time I go they seem to have changed the interior. In fact looking at the calendar I’ll be back there again in a couple of weeks. icon smile Boringdon Hall Wedding

Yesterday I was at the beautiful Muddifords Court Country House for Adam and Aimee’s wedding. I first photgraphed them back in April at their engagement shoot at Muddifords court. Have a quick look at the venue post I did when I first visited Muddifords Court. Since then Nicky and Pip have added further accommodation and have plans to do so much more. It really is a wonderful devon wedding venue and I was rewally looking forward to shooting there again. I’ll of course do a new blog post for the wedding pictures once Adam and Aimee have seen them, but first here is a small selection from last night’s wedding photo booth. Have a fantastic honeymoon Aimee and Adam, and I’ll see you when you get back.

Wembury Church Wedding and St Mellion International Resort.

Wembury Church Wedding and St Mellion International Resort,

This is a wedding I’d been looking forward too for quite some time.  As over the years I’ve spent a lot of time down at Wembury beach and I’ve not had chance to capture a Wembury Church Wedding before. Wembury Church is so popular that they had two weddings that day and we had about thirty minutes before the next couple arrived. So we had to be quick with any group shots as Emma and Andy really wanted to get some of the couple shots by the church also capturing the views. When they booked me to be their wedding photographer they opted for the engagement shoot in their wedding package which helped speed things up on the day.

When I arrived at Emma’s mothers house, the girls were all still at the hair dressers enjoying a glass of champagne. Emma’s father came back to collect something, so I jumped in the car and headed off to see them. The day seemed to fly by and I was at Wembury meeting Andy and the groomsmen in what seem to be a blink of an eye.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful and Wembury church is stunning. Then we headed off to the St Mellion International Resort for the wedding reception on what seemed to be the hottest day of the year. When we got there the golf buggies were waiting for us so we could head off to the lake to take a few more couple shots, we only had 20 minutes before we had to be back for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

Just before the first dance, the sun was starting to set on what had been a really great day which everybody enjoyed.

Muddifords Court Country House Engagement Shoot.

Muddifords Court Country House Engagement Shoot.

I recently met up at Muddifords Court Country House for an engagement shoot with Aimee and Adam. Muddifords court country house is a new wedding venue and is already proving very popular with Devon brides. We first met after they found me via the website and loved my style of wedding photography.

We will be back in August for their wedding. I am very much looking forward to sharing some of their wedding images as we’ve planned some great shots. The photo booth will also be in action and I’m looking forward to see the images as it’s always great fun. The guests will be able to see them and download a copy from the facebook business page. So head over to the facebook business page in advance and hit the like button. So this way you will be able to see them first and tag yourself, share with friends. We’ve already planned to use the projector to show the photo booth images during the evening reception and Aimee is planning a set of customised props.

The engagement shoots are fun, relaxed and help things flow on the wedding day, as you have done it all before. We’ll have a chat, talk about you, your wedding, go for a coffee, take a few shots in the types of poses we will use on the wedding day and get some beautiful lasting photographs.

I’ve included some of my favourite images from the engagement shoot. It was good fun even the chickens enjoyed it, well trying to peck Aimee’s feet.

Muddifords Court

Muddifords court,

Muddifords court which is located near Willand Devon, is a very new and exciting wedding venue only having had their wedding ceremony licence since November 2011. It is proving very popular with Devon brides and I had the pleasure of meeting the owners Pip and Nicky Easby at the weekend, while visiting the venue with one of my wedding couples. The house has been completely transformed. It is a beautiful and intimate venue with one of the most tasteful renovations I have seen for a very long time. But it is very much a home, with the two dogs following me around most of the time. The garden and grounds have also under-gone a complete transformation. With this attention to detail it will soon become one of Devon’s most popular wedding venues. Don’t just take my word for it, have a look at the images below and give them a call, I am sure Pip and Nicky would love to show you around. You will no dought be as impressed as I have been.

I loved the pond and boat house and spent some time with my wedding couple taking images for their engagement shoot. I am looking forward to  working with Pip and Nicky more often, not just as a wedding photographer but also with my food and commercial photography.

The ceremony room is “The cider Barn”. This still contains the old cider press which has been transformed into a feature with a lovely wood burning stove for those winter weddings.

The beautiful Wembury Church, Anglican church of St Werburgh is set in a stunning location overlooking the sea, Wembury beach and the Mewstone.

The church makes a beautiful wedding Veune with its unparrelled views over the Mewstone, After the ceremony we’ll spend some time in either field behind the church or down on the beach. Creating your beautiful wedding photographs in this historic and stunning location.

One of fourteen churches dedicated to that saint (not all still in use), the present structure dates from around the fourteenth century, although there are grounds to believe that it had predecessors as far back as the ninth century.
