Peninsula Medical School Graduation Ball Photography and Photobooth

Peninsula Medical School Graduation Ball Photography and Photobooth. Last night we were with the Graduating class of 2013 from Peninsula Medical School jointly run by the university of Exeter and the university of Plymouth. They held the ball in the beautiful grounds of Bicton college. Where I had two roles to perform I was taking images of the students as a memento of their graduation and later in the evening running the photobooth. To access the images of the groups shots please head over to the client area of the website and I believe the password was given to you all. If not drop me an email and I'll send it over. The images are free to download as electronic copies as the graduation ball have already paid for this. But if you want to order prints then you can at anytime through the online shop. http://www.redchilliphotography.com/photocart/ After the meal and the review of the year, by the way which was excellent. How you all managed to coordinate making the spoof music videos. I'll never know.. We ran the photo booth which was a brilliant success. As usual I've included a small selection of the photo booth images  below. All the rest are on the  facebook “Red Chilli Photography” page. So head over and like the business page and see if you can find your images from the photo booth. Don’t forget to tag yourself and please share on your profile. Download a copy if you want one from the facebook site. So if you are planning your wedding, or looking for a Graduation Ball Photographer or would like to hire the photo booth. Nicola and Andy’s wedding at Boringdon Hall

Nicola and Andy's wedding at Boringdon Hall.

This was my second wedding of the May bank holiday weekend which is proving the most popular weekend of the year to get married for the last three years. Boringdon Hall has recently gone through a massive programme of refurbishment, the old car park is gone as is the marquee. The car park has been replaced with a beautiful lawn stretching out in front of the building. The interior seems to be constantly changing and updating. Anyway back to Nicola and Andy's wedding. It was held outside in the Gazebo in the glorious sunshine, followed by drinks on the lawn. We spent a little time in the grounds getting a few group shots and then a little time away from the wedding guests capturing a few bride and groom portraits. Before heading back to enjoy the wedding breakfast. Nicola and Andy told be to expect something a little different during the first dance but you'll have to watch the video slide show until the end. Take care and I can't wait to hear about the honeymoon. James   As well as the video slideshow I’ve included a small selection of images from Nicola and Andy's wedding at Boringdon Hall, Please feel free to share this link on social networks and to leave a comment below. boringdon hall wedding boringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall weddingboringdon hall wedding If you are planning to hold your wedding or a civil partnership. plymouth wedding photography

plymouth wedding photography in Smeatons tower

plymouth wedding photography in Smeatons tower. Jo and Mark’s wedding took place in the light house “Smeatons Tower” on the hoe in Plymouth. I didn’t meet Jo until the day before her wedding as it was the first time they would be back down in Plymouth before the wedding. We met at Smeatons tower on a very windy and wet summers day, where Jo was absolutely fearless walking out in the high winds at the top of the light house. I personally wasn’t too keen on going out to have a look. But I did (I’m not great with heights so no hot air balloon rides please) and we planned that if the weather cleared up we would go out on the top to take some couples shots with views over Plymouth, the Hoe and the sound. I can see why it’s a popular venue. On a clear day the views are stunning and something a little different from a traditional wedding venue. The only people who are allowed at the wedding ceremony are the bride and groom (I know obvious), the two registrars, the two witnesses’ and the photographer. We also managed to keep Jo and Marks little boy in his very smart suit in the top section. The rest of the wedding party have to go on the different levels of the light house. The morning of the wedding the weather was pouring with rain and when I arrived at Smeatons tower I didn’t think we would be able to get any pictures outside. But fortunately as soon as the groom Mark arrived the weather cleared. Jo and Mark were a great couple to work with. Thank you for letting me be part of your day. I do love an unusual wedding venue. Please have a look through a small selection of the images below and feel free to leave a comment. Enjoy.

Plymouth Wedding photographer

Plymouth wedding photographer

Lee and Mandie choose me to be their Plymouth wedding photographer last year after viewing the website and having a good look through my sample albums.  They held the wedding at Ridgeway Methodist Church, Plympton, Plymouth and the wedding reception at Derriford Health & Leisure Centre. I wanted to share a small selection of photographs from their wedding here on the blog. While setting up my lighting for the first dance the children that had been at the wedding all day took to the dance floor as the DJ started. How those little guys still had any energy left was completely beyond me. As the children started to dance and spin around and the bridesmaids dress caught the light, I knew we were going to get something special. Completely unscripted moments like that produce some of the most beautiful photographs and I couldn’t wait to get home to download the images. We are now just waiting for the wedding album, one of the beautiful handmade story books, to be returned from the printers. Once it’s here I’ll pop some images on the blog for you all to have a look at. They were a great couple to work with, really relaxed and enjoyed every minute of their wedding. Have a look through below and as usual feel free to leave a comment.

Food Photographer in Devon

Food Photographer in Devon

A local delicatessen based in Torquay had been searching for a commercial food photographer to help support the launch of their new website and advertising campaign. We initially spoke about the brief on the phone and they wanted to emphasise the wholesome home cooked style of food. But they didn’t want to use stock images, so we discussed shooting it like was for a recipe book, so the customers could see the food been created in stages. It gives a more personal approach to the food so the customers know that the food has been created in store and is of the highest quality ingredients. I know that the images will be used for the website, advertising flyers and in the local newspaper. I also know the owner has been nominated for business woman of the year. When shooting commercial photography projects it’s very important to go through the details of what the images are to be used for and to get the creative ideas bouncing between the photographer and the client. So when the brief is complete we both know what we are doing. We looked through recipe books, so I could get an idea of the style of food photography the client did like and more importantly the style of images they didn’t like. So the following week we had the date set for the shoot and the food was prepared. So below is a small sample of the images supplied. I particularly like the scotch eggs being prepared. When placed together in a montage it works so well. food photographerfood photographerfood photographerfood photographer

Engagement Shoot Plymouth

Engagement Shoot Plymouth

Emma's and Andy's Engagement Shoot in Plymouth. I wanted to share my latest engagement shoot on the blog. Emma and Andy are getting married in May at Wembury Church and then they are holding the wedding breakfast and reception at the beautiful St Mellion International Resort. I’m feeling quite spoilt with their choice of venues, we are planning to have some photographs on the beach at Wembury Church and then down by the lake at St Mellion, if we get time we have talked about getting out for the sunset. They chose me to be their wedding photographer after Emma’s parents met with me at the Plymouth pavilions wedding fayre back in 2011 which seems ages ago. It’s never too early to book your wedding photographer in Devon as we tend to get booked up a year in advance. These were shot in Plymouth by the Dome, soon to become Rhodes @ the Dome, which I believe is also going to be a wedding venue. photographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devonphotographer devon So if you are planning your wedding. Boringdon Park Golf Club Wedding

Ann-Marie and Matthew's Boringdon Park Golf Club Wedding.

Boringdon Park Golf Club Wedding. I first met up with Ann-Marie and Matthew about six months before their wedding, after they found me through my website. With all my wedding couples, before they book me we always meet up. It gives you chance to look through some my albums, to see more of my work and for us to have a good chat about the wedding. Of course you will also want to find out some more information about me as we spend a lot of time together on your wedding day. To find out more about my service to you have a look at the about me section of the website. When I arrived at Boringdon park golf club to photograph the bridal preparations the bridesmaids were already starting to get their hair done and all of them looked stunning. Unfortunately the weather was a little damp and the fog kept rolling in and out. This didn’t matter as soon as it cleared Boringdon Park had the golf buggies ready and we drove up to the Triumphal Arch to get some couples shots. They had a fantastic day and I had lots of fun being their wedding photographer. I must also congratulate Boringdon Park Golf Club on their organisation and flexibility. It is a very well run wedding venue and I look forward to working with them again. I’m going to pop over to see Ann-Marie and Matthew this evening with the wedding album and prints which look fantastic. So if you are planning a Boringdon Park Golf Club Wedding, please get in contact today to organise your wedding photography. I’ve included some of my favourite images from their wedding for you to have a look at. As usual please add your comments below.
