Lomography Fisheye 2

Do you remember why you became a Devon Wedding Photographer?

Maybe this post will explain why I became a full time photographer and why you should get into Lomography!lomography fisheye 2

First of all what the heck is Lomography. The official line is: "The Lomographic Society International is a globally active organisation dedicated to experimental and creative snapshot photography. Boasting over 1 million members across the world, the concept of Lomography encompasses an interactive, vivid, blurred and crazy way of life. By constantly expanding their selection of innovative cameras and photographic accessories, the brand promotes analog photography as a creative approach to communicate, absorb, and capture the world. Using Lomowalls (1000s of pictures mounted together) as a key communication format, Lomography creates huge community exhibitions around the world each year."

However I have a different view it's just people who really appreciate photography and not because they’ve got the latest and greatest Canon or Nikon DSLR’s, it’s not about flash guide numbers or about how fast your lens are... you’re not going to get perfectly exposes images, it’s going to be a bit different, it’ll be grainy, warped, your Gran probably won't like it.. it won’t even fill the prints. But who cares! it's not about that.... It’s not about an equipment arms race which many of us photographers can forget from time to time it’s about the images you produce and the fun you had making them. lomography fisheye 2 iPhones have apps that replicate what you can do with these cameras but on Film remember that! but they'll never have the organic quailty of film and the feel of these fun little cameras. Warning techy bit! The Lomography fisheye 2 cannot be adjusted it shoots at 100th Sec or bulb, multiple exposures at F8 and has a 170 degree fisheye lens. But have a look at the microsite for further spec’s if you’re interested in the techy side. http://microsites.lomography.com/fisheye/ I’ve just got the lomography Fisheye 2 camera, they do a fantastic range of cameras, films and even waterproof cases and yes I’ll be adding to my collection.

Here’s a quote from their website “When you are Lomographing, you're not only living your life at the present with more intensity and excitement, but you're also conserving the present for your future. All with the help of your bright, dark, moody, blurred, sharp, colourful, grey, indefinable, straightforward, romantic and fully packed Lomographs!” It’s part of the ten golden rules of lomography. Read the rest http://www.lomography.com/about/the-ten-golden-rules and perhaps it will give you an insight as to why lomography and my passion for photography is so strong. lomography fisheye 2 It’s not a job!! No way it’s in the blood it’s who we are and I think I’ve found group of like minded people. Oh and by the way yes I did get my three year old a camera for Christmas. lomography fisheye 2 If that hasn’t convinced you to become a lomographer, The Lomographic Society International hosts cultural events showcasing Lomographers' talents is the Lomokikuyu competition, which raises money for eye surgeries and vision care in Kenya, in partnership with Viennese vision aid organisation Light for the World. http://microsites.lomography.com/kikuyu/ So not only is it amazing fun you’ll be saving peoples eyesight! Now that’s something to be part of.... lomography! lomography fisheye 2 Back to the question "Why did you become a Devon wedding photographer?" It's about the smell of the film when you break the seal and the memories it evokes. It's about your beautiful wedding album opened by your Grandchildren.  That's why I'm a photographer.
