Plymouth Wedding photographer

Plymouth wedding photographer

Lee and Mandie choose me to be their Plymouth wedding photographer last year after viewing the website and having a good look through my sample albums.  They held the wedding at Ridgeway Methodist Church, Plympton, Plymouth and the wedding reception at Derriford Health & Leisure Centre. I wanted to share a small selection of photographs from their wedding here on the blog. While setting up my lighting for the first dance the children that had been at the wedding all day took to the dance floor as the DJ started. How those little guys still had any energy left was completely beyond me. As the children started to dance and spin around and the bridesmaids dress caught the light, I knew we were going to get something special. Completely unscripted moments like that produce some of the most beautiful photographs and I couldn’t wait to get home to download the images. We are now just waiting for the wedding album, one of the beautiful handmade story books, to be returned from the printers. Once it’s here I’ll pop some images on the blog for you all to have a look at. They were a great couple to work with, really relaxed and enjoyed every minute of their wedding. Have a look through below and as usual feel free to leave a comment.

Food Photographer in Devon

Food Photographer in Devon

A local delicatessen based in Torquay had been searching for a commercial food photographer to help support the launch of their new website and advertising campaign. We initially spoke about the brief on the phone and they wanted to emphasise the wholesome home cooked style of food. But they didn’t want to use stock images, so we discussed shooting it like was for a recipe book, so the customers could see the food been created in stages. It gives a more personal approach to the food so the customers know that the food has been created in store and is of the highest quality ingredients. I know that the images will be used for the website, advertising flyers and in the local newspaper. I also know the owner has been nominated for business woman of the year. When shooting commercial photography projects it’s very important to go through the details of what the images are to be used for and to get the creative ideas bouncing between the photographer and the client. So when the brief is complete we both know what we are doing. We looked through recipe books, so I could get an idea of the style of food photography the client did like and more importantly the style of images they didn’t like. So the following week we had the date set for the shoot and the food was prepared. So below is a small sample of the images supplied. I particularly like the scotch eggs being prepared. When placed together in a montage it works so well. food photographerfood photographerfood photographerfood photographer

Lavender House Wedding

Helen and Ben's Marldon Church and Lavender House Wedding.

I first met up with Helen after she found me through my facebook page back in late 2010. After our initial meeting Helen and Ben decided to book me as their wedding photographer. Their wedding was at Marldon Church followed by the reception at Lavender House Hotel, in Ashburton, Devon. I had never photographed at Marldon Church before and it's lovely venue for a wedding. Helen and Ben were a great couple to work with and we had good fun with the pictures. 🙂 I’ve included some of my favourite images from their Marldon church and Lavender House Hotel wedding for you to have a look at. I personally love the first dance shots.
